Project’s general objective is the creation of a cybernetic center for cultural heritage and modern museology. Each of project’s objectives are followed by its own working package and completed when all expected results are delivered.
The present application appeared from the possible identification and immediate necessary valorisation, without tehnico-scientific hazards of implementation, of pluri-disciplinary results generated and validated by previous research carried by the consortium members, as well as the possibility of adding value to the present collected data. Targeted studies focus on scientific investigation for restoration-conservation, archaeology and archaeometry.
The proposed project is independently adjacent, with a multiannual regional development programme which aims the edification of an archaeological park with a great touristic value, in an area of high interest for historians, archaeologists, museologists, linguists, as well as for the majority of the tourists: Ulpia Traiana Sarmizegetusa.
The main aim of the present project lies in the organization and operation of a cultural scientific valorisation centre with its activity correlated to that of the archaeological park, deprived by its location in an economically disadvantaged area, with the possibility of organizing international workshops and applied research camps. Therefore new valences will be added to the archaeological park, cultural heritage will be protected and the value and run-out of the park will be directly and immediately influenced.
The attainment of a service pack associated to the archaeological park bordering Daicoviciu Museum – located nearby the site – grants an enhancement of the park visibility, but mostly the scientific monitoring of the activities at the point of exploitation, and also the protection of this valuable site. The building of the archaeological park, undeniable a high quality initiative, is scheduled on a period of 8 years with the help of local administration, cultural authorities, ground decision factors (cimpeanu.wordpress.com/arhi/prfac/diploma). The focus given to the site protection with respect to the accelerated degradation by generated and hosted actions was not sufficient. It comprises only tangential activities concerning the modern organization of the museum associated to the cultural assembly and it appears only as a communication space for the usual visitor.
According the international experience accounted in different sources – to which the project makes direct references – this kind of parks generates, in a significant amount, a real risk regarding the cultural heritage. By organizing associated tehnico-scientific services (investigations, monitoring, prospections, scans), mainly by non-invasive methods (GPR, 3D scan, thermo vision, LIF, LIBS, LIDAR, FTIR, XRF etc) and by specialized organized events (training, in situ campaigns, thematic workshops or even seasonal fairs of the equipment manufacturers) which will attract experts (brain gain) on different periods, the accelerated degradation risk will be reduced considerable, the current museum activity will be improved, further competitive studies will be sustained. Withal, the project promotes a visual growth of Romania in the cultural international area and not only.
The created consortium is extremely valuable and adequate for the project aims, comprising: the museum in which administration the archaeological objective is, also the main cultural institution of the region; a strong economical agent from the area, with a high quality activity in tourism with experience in the logistic organizing of team building events, seminars and workshops; MNIR – the museum with the most of Romanian historians and archaeologists recognized internationally, those who will establish the best group frame of foreign archaeologist for efficient in situ campaign; an economical agent for the elaboration of professional standards and personal development course accreditation; a national institute of research specialized in the development of advanced investigational methods and techniques, with experience in theoretical, laboratory and in situ activity gained in multinational, EU and extra-EU campaigns.
