Our colleague Monica Dinu represented our department and institute at the 47th International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva with the patent “Method for obtaining biocompatible materials for the restoration-preservation of textile” (2015). The event was organized between 10th and 14th of April 2019, and was attended by over 900 participants from 42 countries. Our colleague’s patent was awarded the gold medal and together with all the other romanian participants was congratulated by our Prime Minister Vasilica Viorica Dăncilă and the Minister of Research and Innovation Nicolae Hurduc.

The invention consists of a set of techniques of molecular genetics, in vitro propagation of vegetal tissues from germplasm, processing and characterization of fibers with traditional tools and techniques and an enzymatic aging method of the regenerated fibers in order to obtain similar and genetically and technologically biocompatible fibers.
