From 12 to 16 September, our team attended one of the most prestigious conferences in the field, ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ ๐ถ๐ป ๐๐ผ๐ป๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ฟ๐๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ธ๐ ๐๐ป๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ป๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ฎ๐น ๐๐ผ๐ป๐ณ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ – ๐๐๐๐ข๐ก๐ ๐ซ๐๐๐, hosted by CNR in Florence. CERTO contributed with 5 presentations in 2 sections of the conference and won the 2nd Prize Best Poster Presentation with the paper “A new open source spectral library of art-related materials as a digital support tool for cultural heritage science”, presented by our colleague Ioana Cortea.

Experimental virtual reconstruction and restoration of a roman bronze vessel
A new paper has been published by our colleagues in the journal Cercetฤri Arheologice. Entitled “Virtual reconstruction and restoration of an uncommon bronze vessel from the Mฤlฤieศti Roman fort”, the paper discusses the differences and particularities of virtual reconstruction and virtual restoration with practical examples in the case of a rare military roman bronze vessel, found in the Mฤlฤieศti Roman fort. The paper also has a supplementary web page dedicated to all the research carried out for this object and also a section of virtual experience where the vessel can be interacted with in three different approaches.

The article discusses new emerging methods within the heritage science field such as data mining, big data analytics, pattern recognition, and multivariate analysis, along with some applications of these new trends in current research projects.
New research presented at inART conference
From 28 June to 1 Jul 2022, our colleague Ioana Cortea, attended the 5th International Conference on Innovation in Art Research and Technology (inART 2022), held in the Campus Pierre et Marie Curie of Sorbonne University, in Paris, where she presented two papers that report the findings of our most recent studies.
